I’m a Celebrity 2018: Harry Redknapp survives first vote-off but close friend Noel Edmonds given the boot
There were fears Harry Redknapp was going to be the first campmate to be voted off on this year’sI’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here but his new-found fan base rallied together to spare his blushes. However, it was Harry’s close friend in the camp Noel Edmonds who surprisingly received the fewest votes of the celebrities up for eviction in last night’s episode and the TV star duly left the jungle. While Harry will be pleased to fight another day, seeing Noel leave could have an effect on the former West Ham manager. The pair developed a bond ever since Noel appointed Harry as his personal adviser when the former Deal or No Deal presenter was made emperor of the jungle. But cracks could well be appearing for the happy-go-lucky Harry, who got particularly wound up after losing out on immunity from the vote during the show’s Immunity Games.Harry was captain of the Roos team along with musicians Fleur East and James McVey and they had a lead going into the final challenge called the ‘Rancid Races’.Harry will be disappointed Noel has left the camp1

Needless to say, it was pretty rancid what the celebrities had to do!They were forced to drink ‘smoothies’. Harry drank blended snails and finished dead last in his race.Harry’s team ended up losing their lead and therefore lost immunity from the first public vote, largely due to the incredible efforts from Nick Knowles who polished off the disgusting drinks – crediting the drinking initiations for a rugby team he used to play for!The aftermath of the trial saw Harry’s competitive side come out where he complained about how Nick had more turns than the other celebs and because he was the best at drinking the smoothies it gave Nick’s team an unfair advantage.Harry’s outburst shocked his campmates but as he pointed out later in the episode, you don’t survive 55 years in professional football without being ultra-competitive!However, he was given the chance to win immunity with the Immunity Games play-offs – which prompted Harry to recount the time he guided Queens Park Rangers to the Premier League in 2014 after beating Derby County in the play-off final. But it wasn’t to be this time for Harry as he lost concentration at a vital moment in a challenge which required the celebs to catch medals from a box above – along with creepy crawlies of course. They had to do this while pedalling on a stationary bike and if they stopped pedalling they would lose the medals they had collected earlier. Harry did that near the end and missed the chance to win immunity. Disaster! However, Harry’s hilarious stories got him through the first vote-off unscathed.No-one is immune anymore so only time will tell how far his earlier antics will get him.If he’s got any new tales in his locker Harry should think about using them soon. But for the time being, here’s a clip of Harry’s wife Sandra revealing the trick behind their happy marriage!
